The Mafikizolo Reunited SA Tour has been put to a stop after rumours that the group has failed to pay service providers.
According to Sunday Sun, an insider claimed Hotsauce Productions, the production that was tasked with the logistics and production of the project, failed to pay service providers.
The source said the production cannot pay for service providers and venues hired for the tour.
“The Mafikizolo Tour is in disarray due to financial problems experienced by Hotsauce Productions. The has no money to pay service providers and now those who were tasked to do the job for the tour to be successful have downed their tools after not getting paid,” claimed the source.
The source also said the production is still waiting for funds from sponsors and nothing was forthcoming.
“The tour was forced to be halted due to lack of funds and this is frustrating because Mafikizolo’s fans were waiting with bated breath to see their favourite group performing. Some have already bought tickets and they’re angry as they want their money back,” an insider added.
The CEO of Hotsauce Productions, Phiwe Shabangu has rubbished the claims and said: “As for claims that we owe our service providers, it’s a blatant lie.”
Mafikizolo singer Nhlanhla Nciza, said: “Our shows were not cancelled, but postponed to later dates. Our fans should know we will honour all the shows as promised.”
