Stranger Things Season 4 Finale Moments That Were Improvised By Actors

Later, Eddie also found himself at the centre of one of the season’s most heartbreaking scenes. On the brink of passing away following a deadly battle with Upside Down’s monster-bats, he tells Dustin, “I love you, man.”

The Stranger Things writing team confirmed that line was improvised by Joseph, with the actor detailing why he chose to include it in the scene.

“I think there are all different kind of flavours of love, and I think men sometimes struggle to talk about that,” Joseph told Collider. “I personally had definitely had older people, guys in my life who I admired and definitely had this kind of fraternal love towards, and I felt that from them too. That’s what me and Gaten (Matarazzo) wanted to convey with our storyline really, so I’m glad that came across.”

Seriously, at this rate, the Stranger Things writing team may be out of a job for season five! If anything, this just confirms what a talented cast The Duffer Brothers have for this show – and hints at even greater television moments for the grand finale.

Filming has yet to start on season five, but the Duffer Brothers have promised we won’t have to wait as long as we did for season 4, which was derailed by the pandemic. They told Variety: “The gap should be quite a bit shorter this time, due to the fact that we already have an initial outline, and we can’t imagine there will be another six-month forced hiatus.”

David Harbour seems to think it will be coming out in 2024. He told GQ, “I think we’ll [shoot] next year. They’re finishing writing it this year, and they need to prep and stuff, so hopefully, it’ll be this year […] But I think that’s the plan. So it’d probably come out mid-2024, based on our track record.”

While we’re not too sure about Sadie Sink (sobs), we can expect the gang to return for season five, including Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Natalia Dyer as Nancy, Sadie Sink as Max, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Joe Keery as Steve, Priah Ferguson as Erica, and Winona Ryder as Joyce.
