Parents of a top KCPE performer from Kisii County have alleged the possible reason why their daughter didn’t secure admission at Kenya High School, the school the girl wanted.
The girl aged 14, whose identity has been concealed for security purposes, sat for her KCPE exam at a school in Homa Bay and manged to score 409 marks.
The girl was hopeful to join Kenya High but was dissapointed to realise that she had been called to Pangani Girls High School. She has since gone on a hunger strike to express her frustration.
According to her parents, they suspect that a teacher in the girl’s former school changed the order of secondary schools that they had selected making the girl to miss her dream school.
The girl wanted to join Kenya High so as to join her two elder sisters in the field of Medicine who studied at Alliance Girls’ High School.
The family is now asking for the Ministry of Education to intervene. Thank you for reading my article. Feel free to leave your comment below.
