A federal lawmaker, Gudaji Kazaure has alleged that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele offered N1 billion bribe to get its N2.4 trillion 2023 budget passed, Sahara Reporters reports. Kazaure who represents Yankwshi/Roni, Gwiwa/Kazaure Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives revealed that after Godwin Emefiele couldn’t defends its 2023 budget, he gave the sum of N1 billion to the chairman of the committee, Honorable Victor Nwokolo, who represents Emefiele’s constituency to give to the members.
However, Kazaure revealed that he wasn’t aware of the money not until it was time for the money to be shared and each members were paid N10 million. He said, “I got to know that Emefiele bribed us with N1B after each members of the committee got N10M.”
Kazaure further noted that Godwin Emefiele has been able to use the money he has to buy most of the interest of the members of the National Assembly and also some other influential personalities in Nigeria and that is why he has been able to do anything he likes without being cautioned. He also alleged that Godwin Emefiele is richer than Nigeria itself.
