Junior Secondary Teacher Applicants To Know Their Fate Ahead of Opening schools (Opinion)

Teacher Service Commission early this month had a series of activities concerning recruitment of the 31,520 Junior Secondary School teachers, and about 5000 for primary schools both on permanent and internship terms to fill the advertised posts late December 2022.

The Commission led by its Boss Nancy Macharia, has tried to speed up the recruitment process so that successful teachers applicants report in their work stations before the end of January 2023. The move is aimed at ensuring the recruited teachers receive the grade seven junior Secondary School students on reporting come 30th January 2023 as instructed by the ministry of education.Speaking on Monday 16th January 2023 during the release of form one placement results and KPSEA report, the TSC Boss said that teachers being recruited for Junior Secondary are to report to schools before the end of this month so as to reduce wastage of time.

The Commission last week through its various county Directors and sub-county Directors, send text messages to teacher applicants, inviting them for interviews and verification of documents in places they had applied.

The interviews and verification of documents has been going since Monday 16th January and is to be concluded by the end of this week Friday 20th January 2023. The whole exercise is being conducted by County Directors and Sub-county Directors. Scoring of applicants is being done using the score sheet as shown below

As a result, teacher applicants who submitted their documents for verification are to know their fate starting 23rd January 2023. Successful applicants will be notified through short messages, instructing them to avail their documents for submission to the TSC headquarters in Nairobi as well as reporting to their work stations.
