Man narrates how policeman stopped him for driving car with cracked screen on Lagos road

A man has given details of how a policeman stopped him on the road and accused him of driving a car with a cracked windscreen and the officer eventually demanded for the sum of N40,000 from him.

He added that the policeman refused to listen to him when he told the officer that he was on his way to fix the screen, adding that he parked the car there and went to get a new windscreen.

The man, whose Twitter handle is @iamthatT_ajayi, disclosed in a series of tweets how the policeman stopped him around the University of Lagos, Yaba, and after he gave the officer vehicle papers and his licence, the officer said he would not allow him to go for driving a car with a cracked screen.

He added that the officer allegedly turned a deaf ear when he told him he was on his way to fix the screen, adding that the officer later demanded for the sum of N40,000 before he would be allowed to go.

He said this made him to park the car at the spot where the policeman and his colleagues were and went to get a new windscreen, as he added that he refused to pay the money demanded by the officer.
