According to a news that was published by The Sun Newspaper online yesterday evening, it was reported that fresh fact has emerged, as regarding the death of Reverend Isaac Achi of the Kafin-Koro Deanery of the Catholic Diocese of Minna, in Niger State, who was suspected to have been killed by bandits who wanted to abduct him.
It was reported that for good three hours, Fr. Achi and his colleague, Reverend Fr. Collins Ume, struggled with the assailants who surrounded their house without any help from security operatives.
While Fr. Collins, who was in and out of coma, and recuperating from gunshot wounds, was talking with The Sun correspondent two days ago as regarding the incident, he said that the gunmen battled them over three hours, to gain access into their apartment but, to no avail, before they (Achi and himself) were shot through the window of their house.
He said, “Both of us struggled to one of the rooms to hide, while the gunmen intensified their efforts to gain entrance into the house, but after severe bleeding from the gunshot injury, Fr. Achi turned to me and told me that it was time for confession.”
It was also reported that, the decision by the assailants to set the building ablaze was because, they were resisted by the Late priest, whom they later shot through the window.
