Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has met with President William Ruto for the first time since losing to the incumbent UDA governor Kimani Wamatangi in Kiambu in the August 9 elections.
The Tujibebe Party Leader through a statement on his Facebook page revealed that he had met with Ruto and DP Rigathi Gachagua in Ruiru Kiambu as the two laid a foundation stone for the Ruiru Affordable Housing Project.
Kabogo, while sharing photos from the event, lauded Ruto saying the Affordable Housing project will benefit Kiambu residents
“Joined President H.E Dr William Samoei Ruto and DP H.E Riggy G as they laid the foundation stone for the Ruiru Affordable Housing Project, Kings Boma Estate. Affordable Housing will be beneficial to our Community. Kudos Mr. President” stated Kabogo
This comes just months after Kabogo dumped Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza days before the August 9 general elections.
Kabogo cited, among others, an ugly spat between Kabogo and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Kimani Wamatangi during a rally in Kiambu county, claiming Ruto’s team was favouring Kimani at the expense of other KKA aspirants.
“Following the unfortunate incident of June 15, the Tujibebe Wakenya party and Chama Cha Kazi parties have decided to pull out of the UDA caravans as they are clearly set up to embarrass other parties and demonize the Kenya Kwanza Alliance as a coalition,” a joint statement by Kuria and Kabogo read in part.
However, the witty Moses Kuria, who was with Kabogo during exit announcement, made a U-turn and returned to Ruto’s camp days later, locking out Kabogo.
