Speculations continue to rise after professor Makau Mutua has alleged what has happened to the IEBC staff in the past week before IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati and his commissioners left office, however he has also claimed on the following over the commissioners who recently exited the office and handed over the reports to the first in command.
According to professor Mutua he has raised alot of concerns after asking what the IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati and his two commissioners are still doing in office despite their terms having been expired two days ago. He also allegedly stated that there are reports that scores of IEBC staff being fired in the past week thus leading to many people being affected.
He further stated that democracy dies in darkness because this is not what is expected as the other commissioners leave the office. However the allegations are not well established but he also reacted to president Ruto’s allegation of Wafula Chebukati being kidnapped and murdered in the August elections saying that those are lame allegations without evidence.
