SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State police command spokesperson, has revealed what transpired in the viral video of a soldier seen wrestling with a policeman to collect his gun on Wednesday. According to him, the soldier was a passenger on a bus driving against traffic one way.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that the soldier got angry that the policeman stopped the bus moving against traffic and the altercation resulted in a scuffle with an armed policeman, and some of their colleagues could be seen in the video trying to separate both officers. Watch the video here.
He revealed that the NPF have informed the Nigerian Army about the incident for further steps to be taken.
Hundeyin words were, “The soldier, who was a passenger, directed the driver to drive against traffic. The policemen stopped the vehicle and the soldier took offense that the vehicle he boarded was stopped. He, therefore, decided to attack the armed policeman. The Army has been informed.”
