Ruiru Residents Cheer on Kiambu Woman Rep Anne Wamuratha Over What She Requested President Ruto

Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Wamuratha is among elected leaders from the county who attended President William Ruto’s meeting on Thursday, when he had toured the county to launch Ruiru affordable housing project.

The project that will deliver 1,050 housing units is among other projects the president has launch across different counties since he assumed office in September last year.

The president has been consistent in his remarks that the youths from the places the projects will take place will be given the job opportunities.

Wamuratha implored upon him to ensure that his remarks are fulfilled when the projects starts.

“I rode to this seat through the agenda of doing away with illicit brew, boy child and children empowerment, and since it seems that they will not stop taking alcohol, please when these houses will be under construction, let them get job opportunities.”

“We have so many who can work and I am humbly requesting that we should not see people coming from other areas to get those job opportunities. We want to see our boys working here. Let us give the boy child their dignity,” said Wamuratha with the residents breaking into cheers.

On Ruto’s leadership style, Wamuratha said that the leaders who used to have long hours of sleep are now working to match the president’s pace, which she said was good for the country and service delivery.

“We have been sitting with the president for hours, and some people have said that it is time to up our game. Some of us who sleep for long hours are now left to decide which way to take because it is not business as usual,” she added.

Others leaders who attended include DP Rigathi Gachagua, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, Kiambaa MP John Njuguna and also Governor Kimani Wamatangi among others.
