Court Orders All Kenyans with Safaricom Sim Card to do Following against the Firm

Safaricom users have been told to go to court and join a class suit against Safaricom after it emerged on what has been happening with their sim card’s data.

In bid to encourage more Kenyan to support the lawsuit, High Court Judge Chacha Mwita appealed for the directives to be published on the media.

Millions of Kenyans were granted the ability to file their complaints after the Court rejected Safaricom’s request to stop the class action suit.

The telecom operator was deemed to be in violation of the SIM card registration laws due to a provision that gives the authority to obtain consumers’ bank information.

This matter comes after two safaricom users went to court to inquire why many cases of fraud was going on. They argued that mobile banking was the most affected and requested safaricom to halt the clause which was sharing their bank details with third party.
