The Ministry of Health has this afternoon sent a message to all Kenyans concerning the state of COVID-19 in the country. The message concerning the virus has been checked and verified by the Cabinet Secretary of Health Her Excellency Susan Wafula Nakhumicha.
From the press release sent on the official verified Facebook page of the Ministry of Health 11 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. The new cases are from a total sample size of only 389.
The positivity rate as at today is at 2.8 per cent.
From the 11 new cases 8 are females and 3 are males.
In terms of age of the new cases the oldest is 93 years old and the youngest is 5 months old.
In terms of county distribution Nairobi County has recorded 4 new cases, 3 cases have been reported from Kiambu, Siaya has recorded 2 new cases, Meru and Migori county have recorded 1 case each.
In terms if recoveries in the country, 22 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the new recoveries gave been reported from the home based isolation and care program.
In terms of deaths reported in the period that was under review, no death was reported and this means that the death toll in the country remains at 5, 688.
In the country today 132 patients are the one who have Corona virus. From the 132 cases in the country 12 are from the health care facilities around the country and 120 are from the home based isolation and care program.
