Releasing the results of the 2022 KCSE examinations, Education Minister Ezekiel Machogu announced that 173,345 students had scored the minimum degree entry of C+ & above.
However, posts have been spreading quickly online claiming that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placements Service (KUCCPS) has changed the minimum degree grade entry grade from C+ to B while giving females more advantage than males. The viral posts have since caught the attention of the KUCCPS leading to them issuing a statement on the posts purporting to be emanating from their sources.
KUCCPS has distanced itself from the Viral claims and has termed the information as Fake. According to KUCCPS, information about students’ placement shall be communicated through their official KUCCPS website and their official social media accounts.
KUCCPS have also warned Kenyans against falling victim to fake information online but instead, find out whether they have emanated from verifiable sources before sharing them.
