A popular former member of parliament from the western region is reported to have finally agreed to work with the Kenya Kwanza government. The politician recently reached out to a top government official and informed him that he is ready to join President William Ruto’s administration.
However, the entry of this politician has caused jitters among the Kenya Kwanza leaders owing to his demand. Sources aware of this development have intimated that the former legislator has demanded to be named as the chairman of a major parastatal.
Initially, the position he is demanding had been reserved for a senior politician from the Mount Kenya region. This has divided the leadership of the alliance, with one faction supporting that he be given that position while the other remains adamant that the position goes to the Mount Kenya politician as earlier planned.
Word has it that the politician will be a valuable asset to the Kenya Kwanza government, and they have been courting him ever since they assumed office.
Some leaders are of the opinion that the Mount Kenya region has many seats in the current government and therefore should let the former lawmaker from the Western region take this position.
On the other hand, Mount Kenya leaders feel that the parastatal in question is very crucial and are thus unwilling to let go of that position.
Word has it that leaders have been given some days to deliberate on the matter, and should they fail to agree on it then the top leadership of the Kenya Kwanza government will decide who takes that position.
