According to reports in Muranga County over 4,500 people have applied for license to operate bars in Muranga County. And this is against only 11 people who have applied for single business permits in the county government online portal.
A section of leaders from Mt Kenya region have been complaining that the youths from the region are going into alcohol. Mt Kenya leaders and the government of Kenya will have to do something to control the high intake of alcohol in the country especially from the young people who are supposed to be the leaders of tomorrow.
According to governor Irungu Kangata the county is in the process of renewing annual license for all traders in the county. He said he was surprised by the high number of people seeking a permit to operate bars.
