Parents have petitioned the government to take action against secondary school principals who impose hidden fees and levies.

Parents have petitioned the government to take action against secondary school administrators who impose additional levies and other hidden fees in violation of Ministry of Education fee rules.

Parents have complained about being charged Sh6,000 for teacher motivation and another Sh5,000 for remedial lessons.

Learners who do not pay the money are sent home, and their parents are required to pay the money before their children can return to school.

They have also urged the government to help them enter Form 1 by appealing to underprivileged KCPE top performers.
