The incident which happened on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 12.30 pm, occurred at Diani Studio shop and saw three Camera Megazoom and Standardless, Memory cards, a business license, and two laptops worth 0.5 million stolen.
In a report aired by Citizen TV on Tuesday, February 7, the robber was captured walking first into the Elelo building premises with flashlights. Upon noticing that he was being recorded, the robber reached out to one CCTV camera and turned it towards the Wall.
The duo then packed several laptops and two cameras unaware that a second camera was still on. The second robber who had taken off his hood, unmasking his identity, noticed the second camera and had his friend turn it towards the wall to leave the owner of the shop stranded.
“He stole over 2 laptops, Two cameras branded Megazoom and standardless, a business license, and memory cards, I found the door open, and after I asked the guard what had happened. I lost goods worth Ksh 0.5 million,” The owner stated.
The items were stolen from a studio that was opened a month ago by a group of young people together to make a living.
