Former Brighton and Hove Albion head coach and current Chelsea manager Graham Potter has surprisingly named Everton’s manager Sean Dyche, Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp as the two premier league managers who have proved they are better than him in terms of forming a team that is ready to compete for trophies for a long period of time. Graham Potter believes that the aforementioned coaches have been a main stay in the premier league due to their outstanding work at their respective teams.
Graham Potter has been at Chelsea since last year October replacing former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel. The English manager has however struggled to find his old form which was a force to reckon at Brighton at the West London club. The 47 years old has been struggling to produce better results at Chelsea since the West London club are currently at position ten in the premier league table.
Potter has however praised Pep Guardiola, Jürgen Klopp and Sean Dyche as the three top coaches who have been outstanding in the premier league. Pep Guardiola has managed to win every trophy for Manchester City but UEFA champions league. On the other hand, Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp has won everything at the Merseyside club which has made him to stay for more than seven years at the club. Sean Dyche is also known for rebuilding lower teams in the premier league into mid table teams something which he managed to achieve while he was at Burnley.
Graham Potter believes that he respects the above managers due to their reputation they have built in the premier league.
“If you’re not winning, whoever you are they want somebody different. If you win then everything is fine. Six months ago I was a competent coach, then we don’t win and I’m incompetent and they want someone different – it’s how it is.
“You have to be yourself – I’m not Sean Dyche, not Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp. You have to respect everyone’s personality we are all different and you have to accept that.”
