What Saved The Church During The COVID-19 Pandemic – Bishop Oyedepo Reveals

In 2020, there was a global lockdown enforced to hinder the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Public gatherings were stopped, and churches were affected as large crowds are found there.

Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, has revealed what saved the church during the pandemic. He gave this revelation during his sermon at the Leadership Empowerment Summit.

According to him, the church was saved because of the fact that they practiced the cell system as commanded in the Bible. He explained that God gave Moses the idea to break the people into smaller home cell groups, and the church that was born after the Day of Pentecost, grew because they kept meeting in different houses.

He explained that if his church was not involved in the home cell system, there is no guarantee that they would have recorded the kind of growth they witnessed.

“In some churches, less than one-third of their attendees returned after the lockdown. Your church was blossoming,” he said.

He explained that the cell system is God’s strategy to save the church, as there will be more hard times for the world.

“The cell system is the strategy of heaven to keep the church alive in season and out of season,” he said.

“Worse days lie ahead, but it will be the best of days for the church. The Bible says darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people,” he said.
