Ayo Oyalowo, a member of Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed his opinion on the calls for the president-elect to visit his opponent, Peter Obi of the Labour Party. During an interview with Arise News, Oyalowo questioned why the president-elect, who is from the APC, should visit Peter Obi, emphasizing that he is the winner of the election.
Oyalowo, a strong supporter of Bola Tinubu, also noted that there was no need for the president-elect to visit Peter Obi. Instead, upon his return to Nigeria, he would form a committee that would be available to accept anyone who wants to join them in moving the country forward. He added that those who were unhappy with the election result could express their grievances in court.

According to him: “No, he shouldn’t have to go and see Peter Obi, for what, why should he go and meet Peter Obi? Bola Tinubu is the president-elect, he will only come home and form a traditional committee, and we will start working with anybody that wants to heal, but people who wants to cry can continue, but they should do it in line with the law”
Oyalowo was firm in his belief that there was no need for the president-elect to visit his opponent, stating that Bola Tinubu had won the election and that he would only come home to form a traditional committee to work with anyone who was interested in reconciliation. However, he also noted that those who wished to express their grievances could do so as long as they followed the law.
