The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Friday, said that God would help him fulfil the dreams and aspirations of Nigerians during his administration.
Tinubu said this when the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), took him on a familiarisation tour of the Presidential Villa, in Abuja ahead of inauguration.
He added that God would keep him in good health and help him carry the burden to be able to fulfil the dreams of Nigerians.
He said, “Help me God, to carry the burden, to face the challenges, and keep me in good health, to be able to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of millions of our people.
FG declares May 29 work-free day

The Federal Government has declared Monday, May 29, 2023, as a work-free day for all workers in the country.
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in a statement on Friday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Shuaib Belgore, said this is to commemorate the inauguration of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
He enjoined Nigerians to continue to support and promote democracy through adherence to the rule of law.
The statement partly read, “The Minister felicitates with all Nigerians on the momentous occasion, commending them for their faith in democracy as expressed in the nationwide election that produced the President and his Deputy being inaugurated and indeed in all elections across the nation.
“He said democracy anywhere is an unfinished business and the only way it can keep developing and serve its end of being the vehicle to good governance and the welfare of all the people is by adhering to its tenets of the rule of law, supporting democratic institutions, promotion of free and responsible press and advancement of the frontiers of freedom for all the people.
Buhari scored ‘F9’ in all sectors — HURIWA alleges

Civil rights advocacy group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, on Friday, slammed the outgoing Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, saying that he failed Nigerians and scored a woeful ‘F9’ in all sectors of governance, from economy, to security, unemployment, education, infrastructure, oil and gas, electricity, and every other sector.
HURIWA, in a statement by its National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko said it was lamentable and extremely embarrassing that Buhari promised Nigerians change in 2015 but has only succeeded in changing the country for the worse.
The group, rolling out a scorecard of Buhari, who hands over to the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29, said Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC deceived Nigerians into power and only enriched themselves.
The statement read: “Buhari, a former Nigerian military head of state who hailed from the rustic town of Daura in Katsina State, North-West Nigeria had during his campaign in 2015 vowed to combat endemic corruption in the country.
Presidency: S-Court clears way for Tinubu’s swearing-in

ABUJA– The Supreme Court, on Friday, paved the way for the swearing-in of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday, May 29.
The apex court, in a unanimous decision by a five-member panel, dismissed as lacking in merit, an appeal the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, filed to query Tinubu’s eligibility to contest the presidential election that held on February 25.
