Nene Anyeanogu Teye Agor IX known in private life as Mr. Isaac Teye Agor has celebrated and performed customary rites for his stool on Monday.
The stool is the traditional representation of the Okper Division of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area.
In attendance were chiefs and elders from both the division and paramountcy. Other invitees also came from other divisions and traditional areas.
Among the rites and customs performed were pouring of libation, traditional dancing by some chiefs and people signifying allegiance to Nene Agor and the Okper stool.
In a statement, Nene Agor IX noted a few things that are priority to him. Just to mention a few, he said water and toilet facilities and Okper lands in litigation by people from other jurisdictions.
He thanked all participants present and wished them well and promised create a unique festival to be celebrated by the people of Okper every year.
Some sheep were slaughtered for some rites and Merry making as tradition demands.
Nene Teye Agor as called by many, has been very instrumental in the feud on who becomes the Konor (Paramount Chief) of the Yilo Krobo traditional area.
In recent time, he was challenged by one police office kum lawyer who was also claiming heir to the Okper stool.
Nene Teye Agor is a tax officer who works with the Ghana Revenue Authority.
In his benevolence, Nene Agor is passionate about education and community development and this has lead to his record of continues supply of Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) to schools in his divisional area.
