The Constitution of Kenya clear spells out that every Kenyan child is entitled to free and compulsory education in order to acquire literacy skills.
It’s barely one month gone since the schools reopened for term two both secondary and primary schools.
Bad news have rocked the government through the ministry of education that is headed by Ezekiel Machogu as the cabinet secretary following the decision of the school heads planning to close schools due to lack of funds.
According to the source from the Daily Nation newspaper, the ministry of education is yet to disburse capitation funds to schools for term two and the school heads have found it hard to keep students in schools without money to buy them food.
The school heads are now cautioning that they will not keep students in schools without money and they are planning to close down.
In conclusion, education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu should swing into action as soon as possible to ensure that money is disbursed to secondary schools for learning process to run smoothly.
