Ghanaian music sensation Wendy Shay was involved in a distressing car accident last night 10th September 2023, along the Kwabenya highway in Accra. The incident occurred shortly after midnight, and a witness at the scene provided a detailed account.
The eyewitness, Prince Obimpeh of UTV described the location as a stretch of road known for its quietness during nighttime, often prompting drivers to speed. Wendy Shay’s distinctive dreadlocked hair and a customized ‘Shay’ license plate identified her vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler.
According to Prince, the accident happened when Wendy Shay attempted to evade a tipper truck filled with sand heading in her direction. The driver-side front wheel crashed into the truck and her vehicle went into a gutter. The truck on the other hand flipped on its side on the opposite side of the road.
Videos from the accident depicted the severely damaged front end of the Wrangler with the registration SHAY 21-19. Immediate efforts were made to transport Wendy Shay to a nearby medical facility for urgent medical attention.
Wendy Shay complained of severe head pain from hitting her head on the dashboard when she spoke to Prince.
A few years back, Ebony who belonged to the same record label, Ruff Town Records, lost her life in a similar road accident.
